Freya Pauwels obtained her Bachelor of Dance in 2012. She consecutively danced in Swan Lake and The Match van Lonneke van Leth in The Hague. After she performed in L’Autre and Présence by New York based choreographer Brice Mousset in Paris and New York. She trained in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Brussels, New York, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Adelaide … In 2015, however, she was invited by The Australian Dance Theatre for an exchange that would eventually have a huge impact on her career as dancer and creator. 

She worked closely with Min Hee Bervoets, Martin Michel, Michel Froget, Thao Nguyen, Luc Petit, Martino Müller, Bart Doerfler, Jeremy Lepine, Zack Reece, Laurent Flament, Noi Pakon, Tim Verstraeten… She danced with numerous artists such as Loïc Nottet, Henri PFR, Natalia and  for several Belgian TV and radio shows. She masters Sway Pole, Flying Harness, Vertical Wall, Bungee Straps  and Aerial Hoop. As an aerial acrobate she performed in Taiwan and France with Pedaleando Hacia el Cielo of Theater Tol and is part of the Tomorrowland Mainstage Entertainment and Noi Pakon Projects. She completed Les Nocturnales from Luc Petit, Peter Pan, The Never-Ending Story and Cinderella of Musichall. Freya was recently Dance Captain and Assistant Director of One The Musical in Amsterdam. Currently she’s dance captain and aerialist in Red Star Line van Studio 100. 

Since 2015 she has been developing her own work. She made two full length performances Morning and woMAN at Stuk and Opek in Leuven and on top of that she showed numerous choreographies on several stages in Belgium. Ever since she has been exploring the boundaries between dance and video with her most recent creations to be found on her Youtube channel. Her choreography Fix You with David Jacobs is to be screened as we speak during the European Tour of Naturally 7. She directed her first dance film; Gasping Voices, finalist of the Inspired Dance Film Festival, Australia. She is co-founder of Jacowbski Invites and Dansvloer.
